Description
Icarus is a dual-world musical, especially suited for Grade 7 and middle-school performance, that weaves a contemporary classroom together with the ancient Greek myth. A daydreaming, bullied schoolboy is drawn into the story of Icarus, where his teacher becomes Daedalus the inventor and the class bully becomes King Minos. Together with steadfast Ardene, he builds wings of wax, flies too high, and falls — only to land back in the classroom changed, having learned that real freedom isn’t about the wings, but about choosing who you get to be. Warm, theatrical and built for dual casting and audience participation, with a complete script and thirteen original songs.
